I'm also using VX ACE to make the game itself. I'm using Adobe Photoshop CS6 to create the tiles and sprites. As long as the sprites fit the correct format - 12 tiles across, 8 tiles high for a full sheet, 3 tiles across, 4 tiles tall for a single character sheet - then RPGMaker knows how to divide the image in to those blocks and creates the animations from the frames. Does anybody have any tutorials/tips for drawing custom sprites? So, I'm asking for help getting through this. The only thing you have to do is make sure all cells in the sheet are the same size, and that you have a or dont have a depending on how many characters (at 3x4 cells) can fit in the sheet. I have a very unique art style that I like to use for everything I draw. MV uses 48x48, but with character sprites, you can go as large or as small as you like. Tiles as a matter of fact are no problem at all. I gave myself until Mid-September to release the demo. For my senior project I wanted to make a short game, about 2 hours of game play or so. Also note that it's not possible to combine the 3 head tall SV battlers with the 2 head tall ones because of the positioning of the weapon graphics. Please make sure to save a backup of your original files. When using the SV-battlers of the 3 head tall sprites, it's necessary to overwrite the following file to adjust the position of the weapon graphics When you're using the walk and face graphics of the 3-head tall sprites, copy the following folders (into your project) You could of course double check the translation yourself by copy-pasting the above into google translate or something if you don't wanna trust me for whatever reason.
